Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely credited with beginning the current scientific study of children's witness memory as well as child victim witnesses within lawful situations. Professor Goodman's publications are extensive and she has been awarded numerous grants and is the recipient of many awards at the national level and international. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments around the globe on policies as well as research related to the treatment of children victims of the law by the system. She currently acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She's a member of numerous professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding Member and International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
